Our Story

Eclectic Echinacea is the parent company of Prairie Doctor, Forage & Faire, and Daydream Organics. Eclectic Echinacea began on Vancouver Island in 1994 when Robert, an Echinacea farmer, grew a surplus of Echinacea and decided to try tincturing it. Robert began tincturing approximately 60 different herbs and selling his product to independent health food stores across Western Canada under the name Prairie Doctor Brand (Prairie Doctor is a nickname for Echinacea), which he continued to do for almost 25 years! In 2020, Robert sold Eclectic Echinacea and Prairie Doctor Brand to Shawn, who now owns this business and operates it alongside his two kids, Remy and Teagan.

Today, Eclectic Echaincea has grown to include 300+ herbal tinctures, a sister brand to Prairie Doctor called Daydream Organics and a brick and mortar herbal apothecary called Forage & Faire in the Fraser Valley, BC.

Many things may have changed over the years, but one thing remains the same - our dedicated to crafting high-quality, small-batch herbal remedies that honour both ancestral traditions and modern wellness needs.

Our name reflects our approach: Eclectic because we draw from diverse herbal traditions and healing modalities, and Echinacea as a symbol of resilience, adaptability, and a deeply rooted reverence for nature and plant medicine.
